F.A.Q. and Help:

How do I submit pictures of my pit bull(s)?

There are 2 different ways you can submit pictures of your pit bulls. The first way is to send them directly to me in an e-mail (see Figure 1-A). The second way is to send them to my e-mail at photobucket (see Figure 1-B). The difference between the two is that by sending them directly to me I have to upload them to photobucket myself. By sending them to my photobucket address they're automatically uploaded, so basically you skip a step, either way I'll still receive them. It doesn't matter to me which way you send them, it just gives you an option, so send them however you want. Below are instructions on sending them both ways. (The pictures show me using hotmail to send them, but any e-mail will work, it was just to give you a basic idea of how to do it).

Submitting Pictures Directly To Me (Figure 1-A):

0. First, open a new blank e-mail.
1. In the 'To:' area of the e-mail enter savepitbulls05@hotmail.com

3. In the 'Message:' area of the e-mail please include the following information: the dog's name and their age.
4. Click the 'Attach' button, 'Attach Files' button, etc., and select the picture(s) you want to send us. Then click 'OK', 'Attach Files', etc.

The Banner Exchange program is a program where you can submit your site information (if you have a website) to us and we will post a banner/link for your site on our banner/links page, and you, in turn, get a banner or text link code for our site and put it on your site. What's the difference between the Banner Exchange and the Link To Us?

The difference between the Banner Exchange and the Link To Us is that with the banner exchange we'll post a banner/link to your site in exchange for you posting a banner/link to our site. The Link To Us only creates a link for you to link to this site, but we do not exchange links then. To read more in depth descriptions of each or to access either one of them you can use the following links:

The site doesn't look right, why's that?

There could be a few reasons why this site doesn't show up correctly on your computer. You might not have JavaScript enabled (if you don't have JavaScript enabled then the navigation system at the top and some other site features won't work), your browser language needs to be in English, your screen resolution should be 800 x 600 or 1024 x 768 (if it's not the page will appear to be extremely small), and your screen color should be at least 32 bit (if you can, some monitors aren't capable of 32 bit. if your monitor is set to less than 32 bit the colors will show up a little darker than they're supposed to but it could also be because of your monitor's pixel depth and screen buffering capabilities). The fastest way to check to see why this site isn't showing up correctly is to visit our System Check. (If nothing appears or a blank window appears then you need to enable JavaScript, instructions are below).

Changing your current settings:

  • To change your screen resolution or your color quality (bit color) on Windows: right-click on your desktop and then go to 'Properties'. Then click on the 'Settings' tab and you can then change your screen resolution or color quality.
  • To enable JavaScript in Internet Explorer: Go to 'Tools' and then 'Internet Options...' from the main menu. Click on the 'Security' tab and then on the 'Custom Level...' button. Then select 'Enable' under 'Active Scripting' under the heading of 'Scripting'.
  • To enable JavaScript in Netscape: Go to 'Tools' and then 'Options...' from the main menu. Click on 'Site Controls' on the left-hand menu. From there select 'Enable JavaScript' under the 'Web Features' area.
  • To enable JavaScript in Firefox: Go to 'Tools' and then 'Options...' from the main menu. Click on 'Content' (with the globe above it) on the top bar menu. From there select 'Enable JavaScript'.

What can I do to help Save The Pit Bulls?

The best way to help is just by letting people know about the problem. Other than that, there are several ways to help. You can create a website or a MySpace, like a lot of people have done. If you already have a website or a MySpace then you can link to other pit bull sites and have them link to you, that way you can get more exposure and your visitors have access to more information and different information, because not every site contains the same content. You could start your own group on MySpace for pit bulls and pit bull enthusiasts or volunteer at your local pit-friendly shelter. That's how I fell in love with pit bulls and that's what encouraged me to start this site. You can also write an article to your local newspaper or write to the politicians that are creating this problem in the first place. The basic idea is to just let people know that there is a problem. There are a ton of other ways to get the word out and help the cause, even a little effort counts. Just be creative, find your own way to go about it! Now, if you like this site and want to link to it, that's fine too. It's easier to link to a site because all of the work and research has already been done for you. If you want to link to us you can do it by just creating a link to our site here or you can sign up for our banner exchange program. The difference is just by linking to us your just linking to our site, but by doing the banner exchange we link to your site and you link to ours.

How come some of the pages open, but others don't?

If some of the pages are opening and others are not it could be one of two problems. First, the page your trying to view is temporarily undergoing maintenance. In that case the page would say '404 Error: Page Not Found' or it would say something like 'This page is currently undergoing maintenance. Please check back soon.' If it says either of those the page will be back up shortly, so just please be patient. If the pages you are trying to view are any of the following or all of the following: contact us, submit a comment, submit a petition, games menu, dog age calculator, system check, banner exchange, link to us, or add your link, etc.. then you don't have JavaScript enabled and you will need to enable it to be able to view those pages. To learn how to enable JavaScript click here.

I need help finding a home for a dog, can you help me?

We get so many e-mails from people about placing, adopting, relinquishing, and taking in dogs that it would be impossible for us to find a home for most of them. We also get a lot of e-mails about us taking in pit bulls so I wanted to make it clear that we are not a rescue, but rather a site simply created to help educate people about the true nature and facts of pit bulls. However, what we can do is offer you tips and links for places to help you find a good home or rescue for your dog. There is no such thing as an easy find for placing your dog. You'll most likely have to invest a little time into a finding a good place for them, but its all worth it to know they'll be in good hands. You can start by looking in your local phone book for animal rescues and shelters or you can check out some of these websites:

Pit Bull Rescue Central has listings for Rescues all over the country and you can search by state. Google is also a good place to search for rescues near you. Most rescues near you also have a catalog or rolodex filled with numbers of nearby rescues and specialty rescues, so even if they can't help you, they may know someone who can, so talk to them and see what they say. You can also check out our links page and see if you can find some other good options. We now have our own rescue database. You can go here to view all the rescues and their information that we have. Good luck!

I'm writing a paper for school, what sources did you use for the site?

As with anyone writing a paper for school most of the content on here was derived from tiny pieces of information gathered from all over the web and summarized in my own words and with my own opinions. So most of the tiny pieces of information on here have no source because it's a commonly known piece of information found on any decent pit bull site on the net. But here are a few of the sites I got some of my information from, but 90% of the information on this site is my own, so keep that in mind. Also, there is a lot of good websites in out links section. Here are my main statistics sources:
