Stubby:  Stubby was a Bull Terrier mix that found his way into combat  during World War I.  He was found stray on the Yale University Campus.  He was then smuggled aboard a troop ship to France.  There he fought in several battles, but they were all minor compared to what he did one night in February of 1918.   He woke up a sleeping sergeant to warn of an impending gas attack.  The unit had just enough time to get on gas masks, thus saving all of them.  He was awarded a special gold medal and lifetime membership into the American Legion and the Red Cross and also met Presidents Wilson, Harding, and Coolidge.  He was then promoted to the rank of "Sergeant".

Pete (from the Little Rascals):  The original Pete was dual registered as an AKC Am Staff and a UKC APBT.  He also played Buster Brown's best friend.  He died in 1946 and since then 3 other Pit Bulls have played "Pete" in the Little Rascals series.
